Six things it does that a houseplant app doesn't. Every screen below is the build that's on TestFlight now.
The greenhouse has no signal. The app doesn't care.
Every record, every photograph, every culture setting sits on the device in your hand. Look a plant up at the far end of the greenhouse, log a repot in a basement under lights, work through the bench on a plane.
On your device, in your iCloud, not on a server of mine.
Export the whole collection as an Excel workbook whenever you like. Back up records and photographs together in one file. Delete everything if you change your mind. Nothing of yours is kept anywhere you can't reach.
Four hundred plants, and not an evening of typing.
Import the spreadsheet you already keep — an Excel workbook with dropdowns, so a typo can't get in — and bring the photographs in as a batch, matched to plants by file name. Add one by hand when you want to: genus picker, photo, pot tag, in that order.
It knows an alliance from a genus from a grex.
The collection groups itself alliance, genus, plant — hybrids and intergenerics included, parentage recorded as a cross. Culture arrives set for most common genera and is inherited down that tree until you override it on the one plant with opinions.
The entry form comes out of the record.
Repots overdue, pot tags missing, alarms due — the bench work is one queue you can log from. When a plant is ready for the table, its entry and ribbon forms export already filled in from that record.
Bump the pot. The record opens.
Program a standard NTAG tag from the record itself, then hold your phone near the pot — wet hands, low light, nothing to line up and aim. Where a tag won't go, a QR code on a bench card does the same job with the camera. The collection knows which plants are still untagged.
The beta is small on purpose.
